This is the best way to be prepared in case of an accident

Of course, you'd rather not cause an accident, but sometimes it doesn't turn out the way you hoped. With a bit of preparation however, it shouldn't turn into a disaster. With the help of the following four measures, you can already be a little more at ease behind the wheel.

Insurance

If you want to drive your car on the road, you are legally obliged to purchase at least a civil liability insurance. This insurance covers the damage you cause to third parties with your car. Damage to your own car is not included. To limit your financial risk, it is recommended that you take out a full-omnium insurance. This insurance covers any damage you may encounter, allowing you to hit the road with a peace of mind. Are you currently looking for a good car insurance? Anti-skid training

An accident cannot always be prevented, but you can still make sure that you are prepared for different scenarios. During an anti-skid training course, you will learn how to keep control on a slippery road surface and how to perform an emergency stop. You will also learn how to avoid obstacles on a snowy road surface. Once you've finished, you'll be heading home as a safer driver.

Avoid multitasking

There are many distractions lurking in the car that can be life-threatening. Calling while stuck in traffic, taking a biscuit from the glove compartment from hunger or drinking a cup of coffee while driving. We have all done it once and we all realize that it distracts our attention from the road. Loss of attention can lead to serious accidents.
Instead, you should keep your undivided attention on the road, so that you can anticipate unexpected situations and the unpredictable driving behaviours of others.

Timely tyre replacements and switches

Both tyre wear and the use of the wrong tyres in the wrong season can lead to accidents. This is why it is important that you have your tyres replaced or switched in time. Tyres should have a minimum tread depth of 1.6mm, but it is recommended that summer tyres be replaced if they have a tread depth of 2mm and winter tyres when they have a tread depth of less than 4mm. Winter and summer tyres have their own specific rubber composition, which allows them to perform best under certain temperatures. Using them in the wrong season can cause problems. For this reason, have your summer tyres replaced by your winter tyres at the end of autumn, and your winter tyres replaced by your summer tyres at the beginning of spring. In order to do so, an appointment should be made at the service centre of your choice.
